The Vertical Wind Tunnel Directory has just moved !

The Vertical Wind Tunnel Directory has been on the internet with the same address since 1997. The owner of the the host ISP died in early 2002 and the ISP was sold to one company after the other. The most recent company was Volaris. With Volaris we were still able to have our original site and e-mail addresses. Now Volaris has been sold to Earthlink. Earthlink told us they were unable to continue letting us use the original address, and the site was shut down three weeks later, with no forwarding address.

This forced a sudden and unexpected move, during the 2002 holiday season. The site has now reopened on the verticalwind domain, and technical problems are being worked out. It was disappointing to loose the original site address for several reasons. For one, people who periodically check the site at the original location will not be able to find the site on their next visit. For another, the person who originally produced the Directory spent over a year submitting the site to all the search engines, a very tedious process. The site has been at the top of search lists for some time now when searching for Wind Tunnels; Vertical Wind Tunnels; Freefall Simulators; Body-Flight; etc. We may never have time to repeat this effort.
