On 6-1-2005 we were asked to do measurements at 10, 50, and 100 meters from the exit for a potential buyer, at zero (ambient) and 600 RPM. These readings were taken on a NNW radial. The distance was found with a tape measure. The atmospheric conditions were: temperature 63F., humidity 79% and barometric pressure 28.89 with a low cloud ceiling. The nearby wood chipper mill was operating and probably contributed a little to the ambient readings, especially at 50 meters. There was a lot of traffic and it was difficult to find a break. This also may have contributed to the readings. The 50 and 100 meter readings were actually closer to the air inlet so we measured the distances again from the inlet and the exit, to the sound meter, in yards with a Bushnell laser range finder. Click on the data below to see more detailed measurements for that location. All of these measurements were taken 5 feet above the ground, or 3 feet above the exit.

10 meters from exit    Ambient  68.4 db    600RPM  102 db
50 meters from exit    Ambient  73.5 db    600RPM  85.8 db
100 meters from exit   Ambient   67 db       600RPM  79.6 db
